Suggestions

What would be best way to optimize our resources and get the best value for it? Particularly, talking about leads, wouldn't it be great if we get only well qualified leads? The closing probability of almost cent percent. God, what a perfect world would it be then!
Guys, I am new to the industry and I am trying hard to understand things in detail. Could you please suggest some ways as how to get the best deals out of my leads? I feel its a big-time expenditure on leads which results in nothing...

Hey Petey,

I completely agree with you mate. There are way too many dead leads out there and 10% conversion just doesnt make sense. Heard about lead providers who go by $12.99 a lead ! thats pathetic for a conversion rate that doesnt even match healthy market growth. And to turn around and look at reality - the auto markets booming with potential. I would definately like to discuss the issues related to lead conversion and the various means that may be employed to go about achieving targets. Gimme a mail ID or contact number i can get in touch with you on.
Thanks

Check out Trilogy. They are a lead scoring system that assigns different values to leads based on gathered demographic info. For instance, if you get a lead on a $50,000 vehicle and the demographics show the submitter doesn't own a home, has been at their job 6 months, and makes $25,000 a year it will assign a very low value to a lead. On the opposite side if someone has their Grand Cherokee listed on Craigslist and Ebay and submits a lead on a new Grand Cherokee it will assign a "Hot" value to that lead. This behavioral targeting is already here and you will only see more and more of it.

Peter, following up with the leads once you get them is one of the most important steps you can take. I know from experience that if you wait hours or days to call the lead your conversion rate goes way down.

Very rightly pointed out Pat! I think the service which Ian has talked about above really helps. It tells you exactly how good or how bad/sad your investment in the leads are. It works! Let me know if if want their number. Its completely free so i think its worth the risk!

Peter, if you use or have used lead providers that you would like to rate and review, www.leadproviderratings.com is a new site where you can rate your experience. It is new, but with honest input from lead buyers, you will get the information you are looking for - before you spend money. No more 'gut feeling' on which lead provider to use. Learn from others and review your lead providers.
