300,000 VIN Decodes!

Thanks to our regular visitors we’ve reached a milestone of 300,000 official VIN number decodes. Keep ‘em coming, we’ll be adding new services this year that will hopefully continue to make this site useful to car lovers around the world.

Exceeded 250,000 Decodes!

We’ve reached another milestone in over 250,000 decodes. The site’s traffic has also doubled in the past year, so we’re really excited about the future. Also Chevrolet has passed Ford for the total number of decodes for the first time. Go Chevy fans!

Upgrade to DNN 4.8.4

I just did a long-overdue upgrade of Decode This to the latest version of Dot Net Nuke: 4.8.4. In the process of doing the upgrade (patching DNN is SO much fun) the direct link for VIN decodes broke. New Service at WindowSticker.us

I've been working with a client at WindowSticker.us to create a URL-based vehicle window sticker service. This will allow you to pass the data to create a window sticker to WindowSticker.us as a set of URL parameters. We'd then take that information and create a window sticker and display it as a PDF. The newly created window sticker also is added to your account for future editing.

BAN Classic Mustangs? I Hope Not.

Classic Car Insurance Review recently wrote about the possibility of banning classic cars from our roads. The reasons? High emission levels and low miles per gallon.
