About Me:
I just returned to the car business in June of 07 after being out of the business for 9 years. For the last year I have been a full time affiliate marketer, selling products and advertising online.

I have turned those reigns over to my bride of 14 years so she can be a full time stay at home mom again. The income from affiliate marketing is more than enough to support our family, so I wound back up in the car business by mistake.

My goal is to make the most of my new opportunity as an ISM and network with others in the business.

Teaching Old Dogs New Tricks

I did this blog article for a guest post on another blog back in August of last year and it was not used. So I am publishing it here. A few things have changed since I wrote this, more so on dealer attitude than than anything. The buy in is there now....

It is time for our industry to embrace Web 2.0, open source solutions and online community networking to start feeding the gorillas peanuts and add

Why MOST Car Dealers Will Never Properly Utilize Social Networking

Web 2.0 encompasses many things with Social Networking being the driving force. Other technologies and platforms are an extension of Social Media that help facilitate Networking. I have been outspoken about how people have utilized this social platform to the point I have been critical.

Car dealers are being forced to embrace things that they shunned just a few years ago and vendors that provide services are not even in sync yet, with current market environments, the whole industry is…

Back in the Trenches

Ok I have done it. I jumped back in the trenches as an ISM. This is not exactly where I wanted to be based on my plans for 2008. I do not consider this a set back at all. Two needs came together and a deal was struck.

Sounds like artful negotiation to me with a win - win outcome.

While I do some SEO work for specific industries and will continue to build some site networks to drive affiliate income in and out of the automotive industry its time to put the rubber to the asphalt…

Shameless Promotion and Networking - Can we seperate it??

I did a recent blog post here about Social Networking versus Marketing here at our Ning Network. While I have made valuable connections here and even picked up a few gigs I did not do it through shameless promotion.

Social Networking to generate business is an invaluable tool but for god sakes when you only contribution is a sales pitch you are just spamming. I am about to revive my blog at http://i…
