I can't tell you how often I look at new products that hit the market for automotive social media and think, "What are they trying to do?"
Sadly, there are so many choices out there that have zero relevance and even less effectiveness. It concerns me, not because of the competition around it, but simply because I sometimes fear that car dealers will be lead down a wrong path and end up giving up on social media as a viable form or marketing for their dealership.
At TK Carsites,…

I can take the spam. It's easy to spot, so we don't have to put a ton of effort into moderating that part even if it sneaks on.
The decision has been made to moderate the posts on this network. The site was used recently to talk negatively about an individual. While there are plenty of venues to discuss opinions about vendors and individuals, this is not one of them. Using this network as a place to try to cast allegations towards someone can't happen.
I apologize both to Stan…

You've created a car dealer web site? Now what? Your effort is wasted if no one sees it. The best way to get your site noticed is to make it friendly to both of your audiences? Search engines as well as humans.
Last month I received an email from an Internet Manager in California. He was very upset that my car buying website, LotPro.com appeared above his for the their dealership's name on Google. Prior to sending a reply to him I examined his site. I…

It's hard to believe that I've been driving for 10 years. This is understandably unimpressive in comparison to the experience many have behind the wheel. However I grew up in a time that things were quickly becoming more technological. Instead of riding my bicycle down my suburban block, I was playing the Oregon Trail on my computer. Instead of having friends over, I'd talk to them via Instant Message.

A sitemap is how you tell search engines what pages are available for crawling on your website. A sitemap is an XML file that lists all the urls for your website.
Sitemaps are not required, and search engines will spider your website with or without one. However, sitemaps allow you to tell search engines specific pages you want spidered that they perhaps couldn't find otherwise. This is very important, especially if your website uses a lot of Flash, Silverlight, javascript, or frames. M…

I am really curious if anyone has had any luck whatsoever.
