car loans that require a payment starter device.

A new way that banks are able to finance a car for consumers with bad credit is by putting a starter device or a "Payment Reminder" system in the car as a condition of the loan. Is this good? Is this bad? Only time will tell. For right now it looks like it is more of a positive then a negative. The way it works is the bank requires a device that hooks up to the car’s ignition to be installed before the loan is completed. Once the consumer makes their payment by the scheduled due date the finance company or bank will give the consumer a code to put in the device. If the due date passes and no pmt is made then the bank or finance company will disable the car until the consumer makes their payment. Before the bank or finance company disables the car they usually give the consumer a one or two day grace period which during that time the device will beep and blink reminding the consumer that a payment is due. The only complaint that consumers have about the starter device or payment reminder is the embarrassment of other people knowing that they have one. Most of the time the device can be installed in a discrete and hidden place to avoid embarrassment or public knowledge of the device. The benefits such as having dependable transportation and rebuilding someone’s credit far surpass the embarrassment of having to take the bus or living with a low credit score. This new way of doing business is giving people a way to get to work, and keeping employment by not having to catch the bus and walk miles to the subway or light rail system. The device also qualifies the consumer for a discount on their automobile insurance policy. Almost anyone with a job and a valid driver’s license can get approved for one of these loans. There is no credit situation in the world these banks can’t handle, from bankruptcy, divorce, medical bills, judgments, liens, reposessions, forclosures it just does not matter. Just like anything else in this world there are several people offering the same options but the service is what sets the finance companies and banks apart.
