Dealer Management Systems

Was curious from within our network- what are some of the BEST DMS out there. I would like to hear the good and bad of various systems- from ADP- Coin- R&R... etc

Let me know what you use and why- what you use and any limitations (if any)... thanks

I am used to Reynolds and Reynolds ERA. It is convenient for me. I never had the pleasure of working with ADP. I heard they are similar from some people. R&R is simple to use, I taught myself how to use it.

Cool thanks Stan! Curious have you also heard of AutoTrackerPlus? I noticed this software (maybe) alittle on the low end- they offer a free trial to boot...

Although I now work for ADP, I worked for Reynolds and Reynolds for many years and then I was employed by a UCS dealership for 2 years where I learned to use their system as well. Having been a heavy management user of all three systems, I can tell you that they each have their own unique strngths and weaknesses. One thing I am opinionated about is how some people try to position the UCS system, now known as Reynolds Power System, as being better than the Reynolds ERA system... No Way! I have used both and although the UCS (Reynolds Power) system has great automation and is very secure, it is a system that actually handicaps a dealership's ability to sell more cars, parts and service. Getting data out of Power for marketing purposes is an absolute nightmare and requires paying UCS (Reynolds) extra money... The fact that Reynolds ERA system can be greatly integrated with their Contact Management CRM system alone sets it as a superior system to the UCS Power system. With that said, I believe that the biggest negative to using Reynolds (UCS) today is the contracts the company uses and the fact that Bob Brockman, the owner of UCS, the company that bought Reynolds, has sued more dealers than any other person in America. He is bad news... If a dealer tries to cancel services because Reynolds (UCS) has not met the expectations set in the sales process, Brockman's first recourse is to sue the dealers, unleasing his army of rabid doberman pinscher-like lawyers onto the dealership in an unmerciful onslaught of legal terrorism that most dealers simply are not equipped to defend themselves against... I mean, seriously, do you want to do business with a man that sues the widows of dead dealers to ensure he gets a court order to seize their inheritance, assuring that they live out their remaining years in poverty? True story, just look up the case of what happened in San Jose, CA with the Courtesy Chevrolet store there that was sold after the previous owner died of a heart attack.
